Adults

Do we stop growing in faith once we reach adulthood? Not at all! There are always chances to live more deeply in our discipleship walk with Jesus day by day. Our adult ministries strive to accompany adults on this journey of faith through prioritizing spiritual growth, building relationships, and service to others. All of the adult ministries we do take place at OSL. See the church’s newsletter for specific dates.

Here is a snapshot of some of the ministries we do with adults:

Bible Study Sessions

Through delving into the Word, we discover how God speaks and works in our own lives. We tap into our own experiences and questions as we walk through books in the Bible together. Bible study occurs year- round on alternating Mondays at 10am in the library/lounge of OSL. Please contact Pastor Amber with questions, or if you have thought of adding a Bible study of your own.

Discipleship Discussion

It is good for us to have a space to talk about important questions in discipleship. In Discipleship Discussion, we delve into relevant topics by pulling in scripture, current event, and personal experiences to increase our understanding and equip us to live more faithfully as followers of Jesus. Some topics we have covered include: Spiritual Practices, Faith and Politics, Evangelism. Discipleship discussion occurs during the school year on alternating Thursdays at 7pm in the library/lounge of OSL. Please contact Pastor Amber for more information.

OSL/Melo Choir

“Sing to the Lord a new song!” by being part of the OSL/MELO choir! We practice on Wednesdays at 7pm from September to May, and sing during worship throughout the year. There is no minimum age requirement, so come even if you don’t consider yourself to be an “adult”. If singing is not your thing but playing an instrument is, our conductor would love to find arrangements that include your instrument!

Quilting

Our quilters stitch to make a difference! The quilts made by their loving hands bless those who are newly baptized, those who are ill, and those supported by Lutheran World Relief. This group meets on Tuesdays at 1pm from mid-September to early May in classrooms 3 and 4 of OSL.

If crocheting or knitting is more your style, feel free to bring your yard and needles and join in for the fellowship. Prayer shawls are sent to those who are sick or those who just need assurance that they are covered in prayer.
